At the end of the legal review on the conversion of old forest titles into forest concession contracts, its members hold 69% of the acreage on forest concessions granted in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The FIB has a triple mission, namely:

  • Promote the interests of the timber industry to participate in the integral development of the community. To this end, it works for the sustainable management of forest resources.
  • Representing public authorities, national and international organizations, the wood industry on issues related to the exploitation and sustainable management of forests, the processing industry and the international timber trade.
  • Advise forestry companies in the interpretation of legal and regulatory provisions, both national and foreign, collect and disseminate among the members.
