This tool identifies tropical timber species with similar technical profiles based on their physical and mechanical properties, natural durability, suitability for use and workability. It aims in particular to promote lesser-known timber species (LKTS) by making it easier to identify reference species they can be compared to. The data used come from CIRAD's Tropix technical sheets.
