CEI-BOIS - Tropical Timber Federation based in Belgium

The European Confederation of Woodworking Industries represents 22 European and National organisations from 16 countries and is the body backing the interests of the whole industrial European wood sector: more than 160.000 companies generating an annual turnover of 194 billion euros and employing 930,000 workers in the EU.

CEI-Bois (European Woodworking Industry Confederation)

Founded in 1952, CEI-Bois is the European Confederation of the Woodworking Industries; it is a non-profit-making Organisation, legally registered as an AISBL under the Belgian law.

The Umbrella Confederation is based in Brussels and numbers 18 National Organisations and 4 European Sector Federations.

The day-to-day management of CEI-Bois is performed by the secretariat in Brussels, supported by a number of working groups dealing with Sustainability, Social Affairs, Construction, Innovation and Trade issues.

Additional ad hoc task forces are established when needed; the most recent addition is the Task Force dealing with issues related to Deforestation and Illegal Logging.
